Dr.Ghandhiraj Somasundram was trained and accredited in Cardiothoracic surgery in the United Kingdom. He was also trained in the University of Vienna, Austria and had received a Diploma in Cardiovascular Surgery.
He has worked as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon in the UK before returning to Malaysia.
He has extensive surgical experience in coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve repairs and replacement, thoracic aortic surgery, surgery for heart failure and surgery for pulmonary thromboembolism. In addition he also performs surgery for tumours in the chest and lung cancer resections.
He is a recognised member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons of America, European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery, Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons of Asia and the Malaysian Association for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
For his achievements and contributions in the field of cardiac surgery in Malaysia he was awarded the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Tuanku Ja’afar as a recognition by the Head of State of Negri Sembilan which carries the title Dato’.
Received his early training in Interventional Cardiology at the National Heart Institute, Kuala Lumpur and subsequently completed his Fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology and subspecialisation in Coronary Intravascular Ultrasound and Intracoronary Pressure Wire assessment of coronary lesions, at Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California.
Dr Devan is a fellow of 5 academies - the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, the American College of Cardology, the European Society of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention and the National Heart Association of Malaysia.
His present field of interest is in Primary Angioplasty and Stenting in Acute Myocardial Infarction, Intravascular Ultrasound and the use of Intracoronary Pressure Wire in the assessment of coronary stenoses and Out Patient Transradial Angioplasty and Stenting.
For his achievements and dedication to the medical field, Dr. Devan was awarded The 'Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang' which carries the title 'Dato' by His Royal Highness The Sultan of Pahang.
Dr Chong received his membership Diploma from the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) in 2000 and started training in cardiology, echocardiology and pacing, coronary and peripheral interventional procedures in the University Malaya Medical Centre. In 2007, he was appointed Senior Lecturer & Cardiologist in the Univerisity of Malaya Medical Centre.
His special interests lies in interventional cardiology, pacing and acute coronary syndromes and he routinely performs coronary angiography and intervention via radial artery
Dr Dewi received her memberships/fellowships from the Royal Colleges of Physicians (Ireland), American College of Cardiology and National Heart Association of Malaysia Her special interests lies in interventional cardiology in particular acute myocardial infarction, valvuloplasty, pacing and heart failure.
Dr Nik Halmey received his membership from the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) in 1999 and his fellowship from the National Heart Association of Malaysia in 2008. His special interests lies in interventional cardiology.
Dr David has wide experience and has received his Cardiology and Radiology training from the University of Sheffield, UK and fellowships from the UK, USA, Europe as well as from our National Heart Association of Malaysia.
Dr David was awarded the Rohan Williams Medal for top candidate in UK Fellowship examinations and Trent Medal for Excellence in the Promotion of Healthcare.
His special interest lies in coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, diagnostic cardiac, coronary and peripheral vascular catheterisations, coronary angioplasty/stenting and peripheral angioplasty.
Dr Peter received his MBBCHIR from the Cambridge University, UK and his membership from the Royal College of Physicians, UK and Diplomate from the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography from the United States of America.
Dr Al Fazir received his MBChB from the University of Manchester, UK in 2002. He also received his membership from the Fellowship Interventional Cardiology Research, Washington DC, USA (2013-2014) and from the National Heart Association of Malaysia in 2012. He also registered with Fellowship ASEAN Federation Congress of Cardiology.
Dr Johan received his Master of Internal Medicine from the University of Malaya. He also received his membership from the Fellow of American College of Cardiology, USA and from the National Heart Association in 2013. His special interests lies in interventional cardiology.
